I signed up for boingo when I worked for security at an airport a few years back. It works fine but not every airport’s wireless provider is going to be boingo, so you might be paying for something you’ll hardly use. For me it was great because I could take my laptop to work and go on the internet on my breaks. But really if you can get hooked up through your phone’s service provider you might as well. And I agree with Alana, wireless should be free but sadly it isn’t.

In reference to above, my mom actually did the wireless connection with her mobile phone and got terrible service. But, that could have just an isolated issue…

What I really want is an iphone. and a kindle. sigh…one day.

Hi Abbie,

I assume you checked out this option, but if not, do you know that you can get a wireless connection through your mobile phone provider for an extra $10-$15 per month. It will work wherever you get cell phone coverage, which in the U.S. in also everywhere.

I’m skeptical of services like Boingo and think wifi should be free for everyone, no strings attached.
