Monte Carlo

This morning we took it slow as the last 5 days have been very busy. After a slow coffee and breakfast enjoying the coastline of Monte Carlo Monaco and looking you all the super yachts around us. We ventured into the harbor. The sweeps were really large and we had to wait for a bit before we could get on the tender and even then it was pitching and jumping a good foot over the platform. We arrived after about a 5 min tender ride. When we arrived we got off the tender and there was zero direction… we had no idea which way to go so we just started walking.  We walked along the pier among the mega yachts and “yachtes” and followed them out of the harbor, because we figured they knew where they were going better than we did. We found our way up the mountain to the palace, which when you come into the harbor is about a half a mile walk straight up into your left. We went through the gardens and then wandered around the consulate area. The government area found some adorable, small streets with shops, coffee bars, small restaurants, bakeries etc. next thing we know we popped out at the palace. By the way, when you speak to a Monaco police officer always say bonjour before you start speaking or they will not speak back we got there around 11 o’clock.and the guards changed at 11:55. If you go stand to the right of the main entrance. Or chain. Don’t stand in the middle they will make you move. At precisely 11:55 the bells chimed and the ceremony began. It only lasts about 7-10 minutes. Get there early bc the crowds get a bit crazy around 11:30.

After the changing of the guards we walked down from the palace towards the harbor and we ventured around the small shopping areas and quaint streets. We made our way up to the Casino. (Long long hill hot walk). We were here right after the Grand Prix so they were still removing pit row and the grandstands along with the guard rails and such so machinery was everywhere!   We ventured inside the casino to just look around. If you are interested in gambling you much purchase a ticket to go in. Once back outside we made our way past Gucci and Hermes back down the mountain.

Once back outside we made our way past Gucci and Hermes back down the mountain. We stopped along the route at MOME where we sat in the balcony overlooking the Harbour and had a glass of vino and tuna tartare and truffle mac n cheese. We walked back along to harbor front.
